I was eating healthy, exercising and still struggling with my weight!

I was eating healthy, exercising and still struggling with my weight!

I have always been interested in a healthy lifestyle…eating well and exercising a lot. In 2011 I started gaining weight and was feeling not too bad, but not good either. So I began to exercise five days per week at the gym and watched what I ate, but the weight did not come off. In 2012 I was diagnosed with celiac. I eliminated gluten from my diet and kept up with the exercise. Some of the weight came off and I felt a little better.

However, in 2014, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, Stage 1. My body was telling me to change my approach and I knew I had to do something different.

A Forum Health provider came to speak at my daughter’s high school health class about nutrition. My daughter spoke with them about my health, and then she recommended that I make an appointment. I saw A Forum Health provider in the spring of 2015 and they determined I was struggling with Candida and leaky gut. They also concluded that I was too acidic, which was preventing my body from being in balance.

Through her individualized plan for me, I was able to lose 30 pounds and keep it off. More importantly, I feel better. I am so happy and feel blessed. Forum Health Clarkston has been able to guide me on my journey to health and wellness.

Thank you to all the staff at Forum Health Clarkston. Your knowledge, kindness, and support are so appreciated.
