Pediatric Functional Medicine

What is Pediatric Functional Medicine?

In the first few years of life, a child goes through many changes in brain development, microbiome assembly (which aids in the development of the immune system), as well as physical, psychological and emotional growth. Pediatric functional medicine is essential for early recognition of health issues that may be hindering growth and development.

Kimberly Cabe, FNP-BC and our team of experts use a family-centered, whole-body approach that addresses imbalances and underlying triggers that influence your child’s health, rather than just treating the symptoms of a condition. We work to get to the root-cause of the condition, eliminate the triggers, and heal the body from within.

The initial visit consists of an in-depth review of your child’s history while also taking into consideration the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that influence long-term health and may lead to chronic disease. This visit allows us to give recommendations and assist you in determining the best plan for your child.

Remember, a healthy baby begins even before conception. For this reason, we work with mothers to establish their optimal health goals for prenatal (before birth), through pregnancy, and postpartum (after birth).
