Galleri™ Cancer Screening

Go further with cancer screening.

Today, the majority of cancers are diagnosed too late, when outcomes are poor. That’s why we’re excited to offer the Galleri™ multi-cancer early detection test* to our patients. This first-of-its-kind test detects more than 50 types of cancer through a simple blood draw.

Why Galleri™?

The earlier that cancer is diagnosed, the greater the chance of successful outcomes. Several cancer types, such as breast, colorectal, cervical, prostate and lung, can be detected through screening tests. However, the majority of cancer deaths each year are from cancers with no recommended screening. In the past, cancers such as ovarian, pancreatic, and melanoma—some of the deadliest—have often gone undetected until symptoms start showing. Early detection is key, as it can increase the overall survival rate of cancer patients by 400%. That’s where Galleri enters the picture.

When Should You Consider This Test?

The Galleri test is recommended for adults who have a higher risk of cancer, typically those aged 50 or older. It’s important to know that the Galleri test is meant to be used alongside other cancer screening tests your healthcare provider might advise. It’s not a replacement for them.

If you are pregnant, under 21 years old, or currently undergoing cancer treatment, the Galleri test may not be suitable for you. Important safety information.

What Does the Galleri™ Test Measure?

The Galleri test works by analyzing methylation patterns of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) in the bloodstream using next-generation sequencing (NGS) and machine-learning algorithms. All cells—cancer and non-cancer—shed DNA into the bloodstream. Methylation is a process used by cells to regulate gene expression.

cfDNA can carry methylation patterns. Different cancers shed DNA into the bloodstream at different rates. The proportion of cfDNA from cancer cells in the blood tends to increase as cancer progresses. The greater the proportion of cfDNA from cancer cells in a sample, the stronger the cancer signal and the more likely it is to be detected by the Galleri test.
